I don't remember much of my childhood except some crappy days being picked at during school. my life outside of school was much more exciting, kids at my neighbourhood were nicer and we had a nice group. I always hated school, never saw the point of it, even as a kid I preferred learning outside of school, by doing, watching and using my hands. School is too much memorizing not enough action.
I was born in Istanbul, Turkey. It was end of middle school that my father, who grew up in Germany, decided that I had to go abroad to continue my education. Realizing the crappy education system back home his mind was set that I needed what he experienced. His father had left him and my grandmother at the age of 7, which forced them to move to Germany. He was there until graduating from college. Comparing the educational system at both countries he realized that I needed to be more of an international individual.
After a few summer camps in London and Pennsylvania, I was off to America for good. I became an exchange student senior year of high school and found myself in a 500 person town called Kellogg, Minnesota. After that I attended college in Blacksburg, Virginia. This is also where my journey with plants started.
After college I learned about the wwoof program and headed to Japan to volunteer at farms. What an experience that was, visit Japan if you ever get the chance, especially if you like nature.. Returning from Japan I volunteered at many farms across the black sea region of Turkey and one on the Mediterranean. Once this was done I was once again in America. Working for the largest indoor grow operation on the planet in Denver, Colorado. All this took over 13years of my life. Currently I'm residing in a rural village on the Mediterranean, south coast of Turkey. Farming on a land where I can finally call the shots, experimenting with all the different techniques I have acquired through my journey with plants.
